Description

Flaky, cheesy puff pastry twists filled with a creamy jalapeño popper-inspired mixture. Perfect for parties, game nights, or anytime snacking.


Ingredients

  • 2 sheets puff pastry, thawed
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 fresh jalapeños, finely chopped and seeds removed
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped halal smoked turkey slices or beef pastrami
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. On a floured surface, roll out one sheet of puff pastry into a rectangle.
  3. Spread half of the cream cheese evenly over the pastry, leaving a small border.
  4. Sprinkle half of the cheddar, jalapeños, smoked meat, and seasonings over the cream cheese.
  5. Top with the second puff pastry sheet and gently press down.
  6. Cut into 1-inch wide strips using a sharp knife or pizza cutter.
  7. Twist each strip and place on the prepared baking sheet, spaced apart.
  8. Whisk together the egg and milk, then brush over the twists.
  9. Brush with melted butter for added flavor and color.
  10. Bake for 18 to 22 minutes until golden and puffed.
  11. Let cool slightly before serving.
