Description

Soft and buttery cinnamon rolls made with Hawaiian sweet rolls, layered with a cinnamon-sugar filling and creamy cheesecake-like center, then finished with a sweet glaze for an easy indulgent treat.

Ingredients

  • 1 package (12 count) Hawaiian sweet rolls
  • 6 tablespoons salted butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 225 g cream cheese, softened
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon milk (for glaze, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a baking dish.
  2. Slice the Hawaiian rolls horizontally as one slab and place the bottom half in the dish.
  3. Mix melted butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon, then spread evenly over the rolls.
  4. In a bowl, mix cream cheese, granulated sugar, vanilla, and milk until smooth.
  5. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the cinnamon layer.
  6. Place the top half of the rolls back on.
  7. Optionally brush with extra melted butter.
  8. Bake for 15–20 minutes until golden and warmed through.
  9. Mix powdered sugar and milk for glaze and drizzle over warm rolls.
  10. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Do not separate rolls before slicing for easier assembly.
  • Use softened cream cheese to avoid lumps.
  • Add nuts or fruit for extra flavor and texture.
  • Refrigerate leftovers due to cream cheese filling.
  • Reheat gently to maintain softness.
  • Optional glaze enhances sweetness but can be skipped.
  • Can be assembled ahead and baked later.
