Description

These Maple Glazed Sweet Potatoes are a warm, comforting side dish made with tender roasted cubes coated in a cinnamon-maple glaze. Perfect for holidays or cozy weeknight meals, they’re easy to prepare and full of naturally sweet, caramelized flavor.

Ingredients

  • 2 ½ pounds sweet potatoes (about 5 medium), peeled if desired and cut into 1-inch cubes
  • ½ cup pure maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil, melted
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ cup chopped pecans (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large baking dish, combine sweet potato cubes with maple syrup, melted coconut oil, cinnamon, and salt. Toss to coat evenly.
  3. Bake uncovered for 20 minutes, then stir to redistribute glaze.
  4. Continue roasting for 30–40 more minutes, stirring every 15 minutes, until sweet potatoes are tender and lightly caramelized.
  5. Stir in chopped pecans if using, and drizzle with lemon juice for brightness.
  6. Serve warm as a side dish.

Notes

  • Add a pinch of nutmeg or ginger for extra warmth.
  • Swap coconut oil with butter for a richer taste.
  • Roast with thyme during the final 15 minutes for a savory touch.
  • To caramelize well, avoid overcrowding the dish and ensure oven is fully preheated.
