Description

Nature’s Gatorade is a refreshing, hydrating homemade electrolyte drink made with coconut water, lemon juice, sea salt, and natural sweetener. Boosted with blue spirulina for antioxidants and a gorgeous hue, it’s the perfect clean alternative to store-bought sports drinks.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups coconut water
  • 3 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • ½ teaspoon blue spirulina powder
  • 12 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
  • Pinch of sea salt

Instructions

  1. Add coconut water, lemon juice, spirulina, honey (or maple syrup), and sea salt to a blender.
  2. Blend on high until smooth and well combined.
  3. Pour over ice and serve immediately, or store in a sealed mason jar in the fridge.

Notes

  • Swap lemon juice for lime juice for a tangier version.
  • Freeze into ice cubes to drop into water bottles for a cooling option.
  • Add unflavored collagen or electrolyte powder for an extra workout boost.
  • Shake or stir before drinking since spirulina may settle.
  • For a vegan version, use maple syrup instead of honey.
