Description
Nature’s Gatorade is a refreshing, hydrating homemade electrolyte drink made with coconut water, lemon juice, sea salt, and natural sweetener. Boosted with blue spirulina for antioxidants and a gorgeous hue, it’s the perfect clean alternative to store-bought sports drinks.
Ingredients
- 2 cups coconut water
- 3 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
- ½ teaspoon blue spirulina powder
- 1–2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
- Pinch of sea salt
Instructions
- Add coconut water, lemon juice, spirulina, honey (or maple syrup), and sea salt to a blender.
- Blend on high until smooth and well combined.
- Pour over ice and serve immediately, or store in a sealed mason jar in the fridge.
Notes
- Swap lemon juice for lime juice for a tangier version.
- Freeze into ice cubes to drop into water bottles for a cooling option.
- Add unflavored collagen or electrolyte powder for an extra workout boost.
- Shake or stir before drinking since spirulina may settle.
- For a vegan version, use maple syrup instead of honey.
