Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup white chocolate, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, cubed
  • 3 tablespoons heavy whipping cream
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons fresh orange zest (from about 1 medium orange)
  • 3/4 teaspoon pure orange extract
  • 12 drops orange gel food coloring (optional)
  • 1/3 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Place the chopped white chocolate in a heat-safe bowl.
  2. In a small saucepan, heat butter and heavy cream over low heat until butter melts and mixture is warm (not boiling).
  3. Pour warm mixture over white chocolate. Let sit for 1 minute, then stir until smooth.
  4. Stir in orange zest, orange extract, and food coloring (if using).
  5. Mix in powdered sugar until the mixture thickens slightly.
  6. Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour, until firm enough to scoop.
  7. Scoop small portions and roll into balls using your hands. Place on a lined baking sheet.
  8. Chill truffles again for 20 minutes until fully set.
