Ingredients
- 1 cup white chocolate, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, cubed
- 3 tablespoons heavy whipping cream
- 1 1/2 teaspoons fresh orange zest (from about 1 medium orange)
- 3/4 teaspoon pure orange extract
- 1–2 drops orange gel food coloring (optional)
- 1/3 cup powdered sugar
Instructions
- Place the chopped white chocolate in a heat-safe bowl.
- In a small saucepan, heat butter and heavy cream over low heat until butter melts and mixture is warm (not boiling).
- Pour warm mixture over white chocolate. Let sit for 1 minute, then stir until smooth.
- Stir in orange zest, orange extract, and food coloring (if using).
- Mix in powdered sugar until the mixture thickens slightly.
- Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour, until firm enough to scoop.
- Scoop small portions and roll into balls using your hands. Place on a lined baking sheet.
- Chill truffles again for 20 minutes until fully set.
