Description

Quick and comforting pan fried cinnamon bananas with a caramelized coating, warm spices, and soft golden texture—perfect as a topping, snack, or simple dessert.

Ingredients

  • 2 slightly overripe bananas
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar (or brown sugar)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon butter or coconut oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • A pinch of salt (optional)

Instructions

  1. Peel bananas and slice into 1/4–1/2 inch rounds.
  2. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and melt butter or coconut oil.
  3. Add banana slices in a single layer without overcrowding.
  4. Sprinkle sugar and cinnamon evenly over the bananas.
  5. Cook undisturbed for 2–3 minutes until caramelized.
  6. Flip gently and cook another 2–3 minutes until golden.
  7. Add vanilla extract and a pinch of salt during the final minute if desired.
  8. Remove from heat and serve warm.

Notes

  • Use slightly overripe bananas for best texture and sweetness.
  • Do not overcrowd the pan for proper caramelization.
  • Brown sugar adds deeper flavor than white sugar.
  • Honey or maple syrup can replace sugar.
  • Add nuts for crunch or spices like nutmeg or cardamom.
  • Cook in coconut oil for a tropical flavor.
  • Best served fresh but can be stored up to 2 days.
  • Reheat gently to avoid over-softening.
