Description

A fun fusion dessert combining sweet, spiced peach cobbler filling with a crispy golden egg roll shell, offering a perfect balance of crunch and warmth in every bite.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups peaches, peeled and chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 10 egg roll wrappers
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • 2 tablespoons sugar (for coating)
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (for coating)

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat and add peaches, lemon juice, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  2. Cook for 5–7 minutes until peaches soften.
  3. Mix cornstarch with water, add to the mixture, and stir until thickened.
  4. Remove from heat, stir in vanilla extract, and let cool completely.
  5. Place an egg roll wrapper in a diamond shape and add about 2 tablespoons of filling in the center.
  6. Fold bottom corner over filling, fold sides inward, and roll tightly, sealing edges with water.
  7. Heat oil to 175°C (350°F) and fry egg rolls in batches for 2–3 minutes until golden and crispy.
  8. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  9. Mix sugar and cinnamon, then roll warm egg rolls in the mixture.
  10. Serve warm for best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • Ensure filling is completely cooled before assembling.
  • Seal wrappers tightly to prevent opening أثناء frying.
  • Can be baked or air-fried for a lighter option.
  • Use canned peaches if fresh are unavailable (drain well).
  • Serve with ice cream or caramel for extra indulgence.
