Description

These peach puff pastries are golden, flaky squares filled with cinnamon-spiced peaches. Quick and easy to make with store-bought puff pastry, they deliver a bakery-quality dessert in just 20 minutes—perfect for summer gatherings or cozy nights in.

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 2 medium peaches, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Powdered sugar, for garnish
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter (optional, for brushing after baking)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, toss sliced peaches with brown sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract. Let sit for 5–10 minutes.
  3. On a lightly floured surface, roll out puff pastry and cut into 6 equal squares.
  4. Place a few peach slices in the center of each square, leaving a small border.
  5. Brush the edges with beaten egg to promote golden browning.
  6. Transfer to prepared baking sheet and bake for 15–17 minutes, until puffed and golden.
  7. Let cool slightly. Dust with powdered sugar and optionally brush with melted butter.
  8. Serve warm, optionally with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes

  • Swap peaches with nectarines, plums, or apples for seasonal variations.
  • Add chopped nuts or honey before baking for extra flavor and texture.
  • Don’t overload pastries to avoid sogginess—drain excess peach juices.
  • Reheat leftovers in oven at 300°F for 5–10 minutes to restore crispiness.
  • Freeze extra peach filling for future use.
