Description
Pizza Grilled Cheese Sandwiches combine the best of both worlds—crispy, buttery bread with a melty, saucy pizza filling. Packed with mozzarella, pepperoni, and pizza sauce, this quick and comforting meal is perfect for lunch, dinner, or a snack.
Ingredients
- 8 slices sturdy bread (like sourdough)
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup pizza sauce
- 24 slices pepperoni (optional, or to taste)
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix softened butter, Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, and garlic powder.
- Spread the garlic butter mixture on one side of each bread slice.
- On the unbuttered side of four slices, layer mozzarella, a spoonful of pizza sauce, and pepperoni slices.
- Top each with another bread slice, buttered side out.
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Cook each sandwich for 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown and cheese is melted.
- Slice and serve warm.
Notes
- Swap pepperoni for mushrooms or olives for a vegetarian version.
- Add red pepper flakes for heat.
- Try different cheeses like provolone or cheddar for variety.
- Sprinkle extra Parmesan on the outside for added crispiness.
- Reheat in a skillet or toaster oven to maintain crisp texture.
