Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 2 halal beef sausages, casings removed
- 1 medium sweet onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups pizza sauce
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup sliced black olives
- 1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
- 1/2 cup diced bell peppers
- 1 bag (about 32 oz) frozen tater tots
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F) and lightly grease a large baking dish.
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef and halal sausage until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add chopped onion and cook for 3–4 minutes until softened. Stir in garlic and cook for 1 minute.
- Add pizza sauce, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- Spread meat mixture evenly into the baking dish.
- Sprinkle half of the mozzarella cheese over the meat layer.
- Add olives, mushrooms, and bell peppers evenly.
- Top with remaining mozzarella cheese.
- Arrange frozen tater tots in a single layer over the top.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes until tater tots are golden and crispy.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
