Description

Popcorn Chicken is made from bite-sized pieces of chicken breast, seasoned and fried until crispy and golden. It’s a quick, crowd-pleasing snack or dinner, perfect with your favorite dipping sauces.


Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 1/2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • Vegetable oil, for frying

Instructions

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan or pot to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix flour, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and paprika.
  3. In another bowl, whisk eggs with milk until smooth.
  4. Dip each piece of chicken into the egg mixture, then coat thoroughly in the seasoned flour.
  5. Press the flour onto the chicken to ensure a good coating.
  6. Carefully fry chicken pieces in batches for 3–4 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown and cooked through.
  7. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
  8. Repeat with remaining chicken and serve hot with dipping sauces.

Notes

  • Add cayenne or chili powder to the flour for extra spice.
  • Mix grated Parmesan into the flour for a cheesy flavor.
  • For a lighter version, bake at 425°F for 20 minutes, flipping halfway.
  • Use an air fryer to reheat and maintain crispiness.
  • Chicken thighs can be used for a juicier texture.
