Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1½ cups sloppy joe sauce
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 8 ounces uncooked elbow macaroni or similar pasta
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a casserole dish.
- Cook pasta in salted water until just al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned. Add diced onion and bell pepper; cook until softened.
- Stir in minced garlic and cook for 1 minute. Drain excess grease.
- Add sloppy joe sauce, tomato sauce, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- Stir cooked pasta into the meat mixture until well combined.
- Transfer the mixture to the greased casserole dish and spread evenly.
- Top with shredded cheddar cheese.
- Bake uncovered for 20–25 minutes, until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let rest for a few minutes before serving.
