Description

A golden, flaky puff pastry roll filled with creamy spinach, cheese, and whole boiled eggs, creating a savory and satisfying dish perfect for brunch, lunch, or light dinner.

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 4 boiled eggs, peeled
  • 1 cup fresh spinach, chopped
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/3 cup chopped smoked turkey strips
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet, sauté onion for 2–3 minutes until soft.
  3. Add smoked turkey and cook for 2 minutes, then add spinach and cook until wilted. Let cool slightly.
  4. In a bowl, mix cream cheese, mozzarella, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and paprika.
  5. Stir in the cooked spinach mixture until combined.
  6. Roll out puff pastry into a rectangle on a floured surface.
  7. Spread filling down the center, leaving borders.
  8. Place boiled eggs in a line over the filling.
  9. Fold pastry over filling, seal edges, and place seam-side down.
  10. Brush with egg wash and sprinkle sesame seeds if desired.
  11. Cut small slits on top and bake for 25–30 minutes until golden brown.
  12. Cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • Ensure spinach mixture is not watery to avoid soggy pastry.
  • Cool filling slightly before assembling.
  • Use all-butter puff pastry for best flavor.
  • Let the roll rest before slicing for clean cuts.
  • Can be made into smaller individual rolls.
