Description
Sweet Peach Iced Tea is a refreshing chilled beverage made with brewed black tea, peach puree, sugar, and honey. The fruity peach flavor blends perfectly with smooth tea, creating a lightly sweet drink ideal for warm days, picnics, and gatherings.
Ingredients
- 5 cups water (4 cups hot water and 1 cup additional water)
- 1 family-size tea bag or 3 regular black tea bags
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup honey
- 2 cups peaches, pureed (fresh peeled or thawed frozen)
- 2 cups cold water
- Ice cubes for serving
- Optional peach slices for garnish
- Optional fresh mint leaves for garnish
Instructions
- Heat 4 cups of water in a saucepan until very hot.
- Add the tea bag (or tea bags) to the hot water and steep for 5 to 7 minutes.
- Remove the tea bag from the water.
- Add the sugar and honey to the hot tea and stir until completely dissolved.
- In a blender, blend the peaches until smooth to create a puree.
- Stir the peach puree into the sweetened tea.
- Add 1 cup additional water and 2 cups cold water, then mix well.
- Pour the tea into a pitcher and refrigerate for 1 to 2 hours until chilled.
- Serve over ice and garnish with peach slices or mint leaves if desired.
Notes
- Both fresh and frozen peaches work well in this recipe.
- Stir the tea before serving since the peach puree may settle at the bottom.
- Strain the puree if you prefer a smoother drink.
- You can reduce the sugar and honey for a lighter sweetness.
- Green tea can be used instead of black tea for a lighter flavor.
