Description

Sweet Peach Iced Tea is a refreshing chilled beverage made with brewed black tea, peach puree, sugar, and honey. The fruity peach flavor blends perfectly with smooth tea, creating a lightly sweet drink ideal for warm days, picnics, and gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 5 cups water (4 cups hot water and 1 cup additional water)
  • 1 family-size tea bag or 3 regular black tea bags
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup honey
  • 2 cups peaches, pureed (fresh peeled or thawed frozen)
  • 2 cups cold water
  • Ice cubes for serving
  • Optional peach slices for garnish
  • Optional fresh mint leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat 4 cups of water in a saucepan until very hot.
  2. Add the tea bag (or tea bags) to the hot water and steep for 5 to 7 minutes.
  3. Remove the tea bag from the water.
  4. Add the sugar and honey to the hot tea and stir until completely dissolved.
  5. In a blender, blend the peaches until smooth to create a puree.
  6. Stir the peach puree into the sweetened tea.
  7. Add 1 cup additional water and 2 cups cold water, then mix well.
  8. Pour the tea into a pitcher and refrigerate for 1 to 2 hours until chilled.
  9. Serve over ice and garnish with peach slices or mint leaves if desired.

Notes

  • Both fresh and frozen peaches work well in this recipe.
  • Stir the tea before serving since the peach puree may settle at the bottom.
  • Strain the puree if you prefer a smoother drink.
  • You can reduce the sugar and honey for a lighter sweetness.
  • Green tea can be used instead of black tea for a lighter flavor.
