Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 4 slices sourdough or white bread
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
- Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
Instructions
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook ground beef, breaking it apart as it browns.
- Add chopped onion and garlic. Cook until onion softens and becomes fragrant.
- Season with salt and pepper. Stir in Worcestershire sauce and beef broth. Simmer until liquid reduces and beef is moist.
- Butter one side of each bread slice.
- Heat a clean skillet or griddle over medium heat. Place 2 slices of bread butter-side down in the skillet.
- Top with half the cheddar, the beef mixture, then mozzarella. Cover with remaining bread slices, butter-side up.
- Cook sandwiches for 3–4 minutes per side, pressing gently, until golden brown and cheese melts.
- Slice, garnish with parsley if desired, and serve hot.
