Description

Golden biscuit dough filled with warm cinnamon-spiced apples and gooey caramel, then coated in buttery cinnamon sugar and baked until fluffy and crisp. These easy caramel apple pie bombs are a cozy dessert perfect for fall gatherings, holidays, or quick sweet cravings.

Ingredients

  • 1 can refrigerated biscuit dough (8 biscuits)
  • 1 cup apple pie filling, finely chopped
  • 8 soft caramel candies, unwrapped
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Optional: caramel sauce for serving
  • Optional: vanilla ice cream for serving
  • Optional: powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a baking sheet or line it with parchment paper.
  2. Separate the biscuit dough and flatten each biscuit into a 4-inch circle.
  3. Finely chop the apple pie filling into small pieces for easier filling.
  4. Spoon about 1 tablespoon of apple pie filling into the center of each biscuit.
  5. Place one caramel candy on top of the filling.
  6. Pull the dough edges around the filling and pinch tightly to seal completely. Roll gently into a ball.
  7. In a small bowl, mix together the granulated sugar and cinnamon.
  8. Dip each dough ball into melted butter, then coat evenly in the cinnamon sugar mixture.
  9. Place seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet with space between each bomb.
  10. Bake for 13 to 15 minutes or until golden brown and puffed.
  11. Cool for about 5 minutes before serving because the caramel center will be hot.
  12. Serve warm with caramel sauce, powdered sugar, or vanilla ice cream if desired.

Notes

  • Seal the dough carefully to prevent caramel from leaking during baking.
  • Soft caramel candies create the best gooey center.
  • Serve warm for the ultimate caramel texture.
  • Add chopped pecans or walnuts for extra crunch.
  • Use crescent dough for a flakier pastry-style variation.
