Description
These Chicken Pepperoni Pizza Melts are crispy, cheesy handheld melts filled with seasoned chicken, halal turkey pepperoni, rich pizza sauce, and gooey melted cheese wrapped inside golden toasted tortillas.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lbs boneless skinless chicken breast, diced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 6 medium protein tortillas or flour tortillas
- 1 cup pizza sauce
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 3/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 20 slices halal turkey pepperoni
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the diced chicken breast and season with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, and paprika.
- Cook the chicken for 7 to 9 minutes until fully cooked and lightly golden. Remove from heat.
- Lay the tortillas flat on a clean surface.
- Spread about 2 tablespoons of pizza sauce over one half of each tortilla.
- Add cooked chicken evenly over the sauce.
- Top with mozzarella cheese, cheddar cheese, and turkey pepperoni slices.
- Fold each tortilla in half and press gently to seal.
- Place the pizza melts on the prepared baking sheet.
- Mix the melted butter with garlic powder and oregano, then brush over the tops of the tortillas.
- Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
- For extra crispiness, broil for 1 to 2 minutes at the end.
- Remove from the oven, garnish with chopped parsley, and serve warm.
