Ingredients
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional topping)
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar (optional topping)
- 1 tablespoon milk (optional topping)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
- Add butter, milk, honey, and vanilla extract, mixing until a soft dough forms.
- If dough is crumbly, add a little more milk until it comes together.
- Roll dough between parchment paper to about 1/4-inch thickness.
- Cut into squares or desired shapes and place on baking sheet.
- Poke each cracker with a fork.
- Brush lightly with milk and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar if desired.
- Bake for 12–16 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
- Cool completely on the baking sheet before serving.
Notes
- Roll dough between parchment to prevent sticking.
- Chill dough briefly if too sticky.
- Crackers crisp up as they cool.
- Store in airtight container for up to 3 weeks.
- Reheat briefly in oven to restore crispness.
