Description
Soft and fluffy no yeast dinner rolls made with Greek yogurt for a quick and easy homemade bread option, finished with flavorful garlic herb butter.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
- 1 3/4 cups plain whole milk Greek yogurt
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped
- Flaky sea salt, for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, and sea salt.
- Add the Greek yogurt and stir gently with a wooden spoon until a shaggy dough forms. Do not overmix.
- Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and gently bring it together into a ball. Add a little extra flour if needed to reduce stickiness.
- Shape the dough into a thick round disk and cut into 8 equal pieces.
- Roll each piece into a ball and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Whisk the egg and brush it over the tops of the rolls.
- Bake for 24 to 28 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
- While the rolls cool slightly, mix the melted butter, minced garlic, and parsley in a small bowl.
- Brush the warm rolls with the garlic butter mixture and sprinkle with flaky sea salt if desired.
- Serve warm and enjoy.
Notes
- Do not overmix the dough to keep the rolls soft and tender.
- Whole milk Greek yogurt gives the best flavor and texture.
- Add shredded cheese or herbs to customize the rolls.
- Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
