- 1/4 cup diced green bell peppers (optional)
- 1/4 cup sliced mushrooms (optional)

Instructions

- Add the pizza sauce and stir until fully combined. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- Preheat the oven broiler to low heat.
- Spread softened butter on the inside of each hamburger bun.
- Place the buns on a baking sheet and broil for 1 to 2 minutes until lightly toasted.
- Spoon the pizza beef mixture evenly onto the bottom halves of the buns.
- Top with mozzarella cheese, turkey pepperoni, and optional toppings if desired.
- Return the burgers to the broiler for 2 to 3 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove from the oven and sprinkle with chopped parsley.
- Add the top buns and serve hot.
Notes
- Toast the buns before assembling to prevent sogginess.
- Ground turkey or chicken can replace ground beef for a lighter option.
- Add crushed red pepper flakes and jalapeƱos for a spicy version.
- Use a blend of mozzarella and cheddar cheese for extra richness.
- Serve open-faced for a fork-and-knife version.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Freeze only the meat mixture for up to 2 months.
- Reheat under the broiler or in the oven for the best texture.
